Our Mission

Bridging classroom learning with real research and career opportunity.

Too many talented students graduate without exposure to research practice, professional networks, or the skills that turn ambition into impact. SCEN exists to close that gap — with structured training, mentorship, and a community that believes in your future.

Meet the Founder

Abdulsalam Oladipupo Abdulhakeem

Medical Researcher · Global Health & Climate Action (SDG 3 & 13) · Regional Lead, Planetary Health · Research Assistant · Community Health Advocate

I am a medical student at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto driven by a clear mission: advancing SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being) and SDG 13 (Climate Action) through research, innovation, and community impact.

My work sits at the intersection of infectious disease epidemiology, climate change, and global health systems. I am particularly interested in how climate-driven factors such as environmental change, urbanization, and shifting disease patterns are reshaping the burden of infectious diseases in low- and middle-income countries. Through this lens, I contribute to strengthening surveillance systems, antimicrobial resistance strategies, and resilient healthcare models.

Voices from the network

“SCEN gave me my first real research experience and the mentor who later wrote my graduate-school recommendation. I would not be where I am without this community.”

— Amara O., MSc candidate, Public Health
